The Royston-Franklin Springs Lions Club is having its 4th annual all you can eat Pancake Breakfast, including sausage, eggs & beverage. Taylor & Friends, Inc will be having their 8th annual Hart County Buddy Walk on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Hart County Recreational Department on Clay Street in Hartwell. The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Downs Syndrome Society, the Buddy Walk is open to all that can participate. Registration is $10 for adults and $5 for youths. LAVONIA, GEORGIA - Tugaloo State Park hosts Lavonia’s Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday.
Events begin with a bicycle parade at 10 a.m. Old time games will follow on the ball field at 11 a.m. These will include sack races, three-legged races, egg and water balloon tosses, and other events.
At 3 p.m., the annual putt-putt tournament will be held. Cost is $4 for the putt-putt tournament, with other events free.
Parking fee is $5.

COLBERT, GEORGIA – Every year the Madison County town of Colbert draws thousands to their Independence Day events.
This year’s event will be held on Wednesday July 4th. The theme is “Home of the Brave” and Veterans of Vietnam will serve as grand marshals for the parade. That steps off at 9am with other events are set throughout the day.
BBQ plates will be available for $8; arts, crafts and lots of entertainment will be enjoyed by all.

Dancin’ on Depot (June 29, 2012) – Part of the Pre-4th celebration, Dancin’ on Depot is a fun street dance that kicks off this annual tradition the night before the annual craft show and fireworks! Sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority, this street dance is held on Depot Street in downtown Hartwell. Music begins at 5:30pm. Don’t forget to bring your children, lawn chairs & dancing shoes!

Hartwell Service League’s 35th Pre-4th Extravaganza Craft Fair (June 30, 2012 ) – Come celebrate the 4 th , just a little early! This annual fourth of July celebration features a large variety of arts & craft vendors, games, and tasty food. Friday downtown businesses around the Square have a sidewalk sale, followed by the Dancin’ on Depot event. Saturday the sales begin again at 9am with a variety of vendors filling the downtown Square block until 3pm. The Children’s Parade begins at 10am, where local children dress in the Fourth of July best to celebrate the Holiday! The Hartwell Service League’s Pre-4th extravaganza Craft Fair has been a local favorite for the past 35 years. Admission is free.

Hart County ‘s “The BIG 5-0″ Fireworks and Boat Parade (June 30, 2012)
Saturday evening is at Big Oaks Recreation area, where starting at 5pm the fun begins on the water. Jetski Demos, Kayak races, and a Boat Parade with a colorful patriotic display of boats, then Kids activities, Food and Fun lead up to “The Big 50 Fireworks” display over the Dam. Our local “Community Band” will be performing.

Cars and Guitars is coming up in downtown Hartwell this weekend. The event will honor the 50th Damiversary of Hartwell Lake and Dam.
This year’s theme is “Where were YOU in 62’” so come dressed in your best 50s and 60s fashions.
Cars and Guitars is on from 1-6 p.m. May 26 with food, dancing and rides all over downtown Hartwell.

The Classic Car Show is coming up Saturday, May 19, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Royston Wellness and Community Park on Skelton Street.
A Spring Gospel Fest will be Saturday, May 19, 4 to 9 p.m., in Royston on Depot Street (behind police department). Music by JJ Weeks and his band at 6 p.m. Come for food, vendors, kids’ games and rides.
