Over a thousand joggers walkers as well as infant strollers wore their running footwear for last Friday’s 3rd annual Ballymun Running Event, writes Rachel Cunningham.
Attendees were invited to find to the grounds of Trinity Comprehensive Institution and also run or walk a few laps throughout the day on October 8. Amongst them were children from regional key and secondary schools, who participated in the Run 5km early in the morning.
At night the adults participated, running in between 5km and also the marathon range on a loop around the institution, with 9 laps approximated to be the equivalent of 5km.
The purpose of the run is to promote the relevance of physical activity for good psychological health and wellness. It was arranged along with Ballymun Regional Youth Resource and also Dublin City Board. Overseeing the warm-ups as well as supporting the young joggers on was ultra triathlete as well as dual Olympic steeplechaser, Michelle Finn.
