FAI Under 15 national league of ireland: Dalymount Winners

Bohemians/St Kevin’s Boys lifted the EA SPORTS U-15s National League of Ireland title following their narrow 1-0 win over their Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers.

There was much anticipation ahead of the U-15 underage final with the Dublin derby taking centre stage. It didn’t take long for the first goal to come, Josh Lyons headed in from the corner to fire his Bohemians side into the lead just past the one-minute mark. The North Dublin club couldn’t have asked for a much better start.

Shamrock Rovers fought hard after going behind and nearly found an equaliser minutes after the goal. It took a superb Jamie Gamble save to deny Rovers their opening goal.

Bohemians were living dangerously at this stage and very nearly went behind close to the 20-minute mark, Tristan Donnelly was very unlucky as his effort hit the underside of the bar and not the net.

Cian Dillon was then presented with a brilliant opportunity to equalise just moments later. He did well to make some space for himself in the box with a great run but his effort didn’t match the quality of what went beforehand.

The half-time whistle sounded and it was Bohemians who took the lead into the break. Shamrock Rovers perhaps the better opportunities following the opening goal but were unable to make them count.

Entering the final ten minutes, Shamrock Rovers had another chance to equalise. Naj Razi produced a fantastic header to test the Bohs’ ‘keeper, but Jamie Gamble showed good hands again.

Shamrock Rovers were really going for it now and had another chance towards the very end of the match, but again, Jamie

Gamble managed to produce a save.

There was nine minutes extra time added and Shamrock had gave it all but were unable to find an equaliser to that point.
