St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh 4-20
Two first-half goals put St Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan Ruadh on the road to a 10-point victory over Raheny in Saturday’s Go-Ahead Dublin AHL2 final at Parnell Park.
Points from Cian Boland, Neil Clerkin, Brian McDonnell and Clerkin again gave Plunkett’s a 0-6 to 0-2 lead before Niall Arthur struck for goal in the 15th minute to give the Navan Road men a 1-6 to 0-3 lead and it was 1-6 to 0-4 at the first water break.
In the 23rd minute Ben McSweeney applied the finish for Plunkett’s second goal and by the half-time break they were 2-10 to 0-6 ahead.
The eventual winners made the perfect restart when Brian McDonnell hit their third goal and Niall Arthur followed up with a point to put 13 points between the sides, 3-11 to 0-7.
Eight minutes into the second half Ger Coady raised a green flag for Raheny, shortly after Liam Dunne had a goal attempt parried over by Plunkett’s keeper Bill McCormack.
By the second water stoppage Plunkett’s were 3-15 to 1-10 clear before Liam Dunne converted two frees for Raheny to reduce the gap.
With 10 minutes to goal Niall Arthur struck his second goal for the winners with Liam Dunne getting a late consolation goal for Raheny.
